Annual Fourth of July Celebration Sponsored by Briggs and Stratton
Join Auburn Parks and Recreation for the Annual Fourth of July Celebration on Monday, July 4 behind the home side of Duck Samford Stadium. This FREE, community event is sponsored by Briggs & Stratton Corporation and is open to all ages. Gates open at 6 p.m., followed by live music at 7 p.m. Be sure to stick around for one of THE best fireworks displays in the area beginning at 9 p.m.
This year’s musical entertainment will feature local favorite, the Weston Burt Band, a country group best known for their strong vocals in combination with the classic sounds of the fiddle and banjo. The band’s first album, “Born To Do,” is now available on iTunes. Fresh off a stint in Nashville
at this year's CMA Music Festival, the band put their finishing touches on their second album, set to be released in 2012. Don't miss your chance to see a fantastic live performance by one of country music's up and coming acts.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic basket to celebrate our nation’s birthday with a night full of live entertainment, fun activities, and free goodies courtesy of Briggs & Stratton. If you're looking to take a break from cooking for the evening, purchase food on-site from Country's Barbecue. Children will enjoy free balloon art, courtesy of dRMagic, and First Baptist Church of Opelika will have free red, white, and blue popsicles for attendees.
